A watermark tells the reader something about the whole document: whose it is, what it is for, or what state it is in. For a seller that is useful on catalogues, price lists and copies of personal documents. The tool is free and needs no sign-in.
What Add watermark does
The tool places your watermark in the centre of each page and saves a new PDF. The page content stays underneath, and the opacity setting decides how much of it shows through.
- Text watermark: type any words. The box starts with CONFIDENTIAL.
- Image watermark: pick a PNG or JPG file, such as your logo.
- Opacity from 10 to 100 percent.
- Rotation from 0 to 90 degrees.
- Size from 20 to 100 percent.
- Several files at once, with an option to combine the results into one PDF.
How to use it
Have your text or logo file ready, then follow these steps.
- Open Add watermark and choose your PDF, or drop it on the page.
- Choose Text or Image.
- Type the text, or pick a PNG or JPG image.
- Set the opacity, rotation and size with the sliders.
- Press Add watermark and download the file.
How it helps sellers
Catalogues and price lists travel. You send a PDF to one reseller and it reaches many more. With your shop name or logo across each page, the file still shows where it came from, however far it is forwarded.
Personal and business documents are the second case. Sellers share PAN, GST and bank papers for onboarding and loans. A line of text across the copy that names the purpose makes it clear what that copy was given for.
- Catalogues: stamp your brand name or logo on product sheets you share with resellers.
- Price lists and quotations: mark them DRAFT until the rates are final.
- Document copies: write the purpose across KYC papers before you send them.
- Invoice copies: mark a reprint as COPY so it is not mistaken for the original.
Tips for a clean result
A good watermark is visible but does not get in the way of reading.
- Keep the opacity low, so prices and text under the watermark stay readable.
- Short text works better than a long sentence at a large size.
- A PNG logo with a transparent background sits more cleanly on the page than a JPG with a white box.
- A watermark does not lock the file. To add a password, use Protect PDF.
